Learning from the Ecologist merger

Some of you might know the environmental magazine called the Ecologist. Several days ago it was announced that they are to merge with another publication called Resurgence. This by itself is not necessarily anything unusual. The interesting piece of information for me really only became apparent to me when I read this excellent and very passionate reaction on this merger by Pat Thomas aka ecoflections on Twitter.
